This is a very nice example of the Mauser Model 1871 Infantry Rifle, manufactured by WG Steyr in Austria. It is covered with Imperial German inspection and acceptance markings, even on the wood stock. The serial number 5804P appears on all parts of the gun, even the barrel bands, nose cap, and many of the screws, making this an "ALL MATCHING" example, and it really is a nice used example. The receiver is dated 1873
